Miley

Cattle Dog / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Miley | Chi Cross | 3½ Years | 25 lbs Meet Miley, a beautiful 3½-year-old Chi cross weighing approximately 25 pounds. Miley is quiet, gentle and obedient , good with other dogs and walks nicely on a leash. Right now, she’s still a little shy and unsure as she adjusts to her new surroundings. Coming into Rescue can be overwhelming, especially for a dog who was once loved and had a home of her own. We believe Miley is still mourning the life and family she once knew , and she simply needs a little time to understand that she is safe and loved again. Miley is looking for a calm, quiet home with someone patient enough to give her the time and space she needs to decompress and let her true personality come through. If you’re looking for a gentle, kind and well-mannered companion and have a little extra love and patience to give, Miley would love to hear from you.

DUSTY (US, N Mex) yo

Siberian Husky / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed

Hello all. My name is DUSTY (aka Felix) and here is some info about me:Breed: Siberian Husky/Australian Cattle Dog/Am Pitbull Terrier (see Embark results)Age: 3 yrsGender: maleWeight: 56 lbsHeight: 21 inchesCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: active, smart, playful, affectionateI am an energetic boy who loves being a part of the action.Rescued just hours before being euthanized, due to overcrowding at the shelter, a group pulled me out in the nick of time. Phew, close call. I'm making the most of my second chance. You'll find me to be quite smart and I know sone basic commands (like sit down and wait) and I'm quite eager to learn more. I enjoy pleasing you.I am also crate trained, though I do hope there will be a minimal amount of that, if any at all. I can tend to break out of a crate if left for too long. I have done well being transported in a kennel. I do settle in very good riding in a car though. I've even had a seat harness and done quite well with that. Riding shotgun is my fav spot.Being food motivated, I love puzzle toys, where I need to figure out how/work to get the treats. I also enjoy walks, running (I'd make an excellent running partner), hiking and just getting out stretching my legs. I do thrive in a structured environment with an active family. I bond deeply with my people and love attention. I will let you know when I am deprived of your attention, if you are giving attention to other dogs. I am on Reconcile (fluoxetine) 32 mg, once daily for anxiety, which the veterinarian who wrote the recommendation letter thinks I could be weaned from once I am acclimated into my forever home.I've done well with similarly sized or confident dogs, but do have a high prey drive, so would not be suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals. Stuffed aninals are super fun. They don't tend to last terribly long around me though, so toughy types are best.I love going to my doggie daycare. My rescuers say I am a really special pup and they could see me being an active person's best buddy. They have stated everyone who works with me loves me.My best match would be with an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens, as I can be sensitive to sudden movements. Small children would probably just be a little bit too unpredictable for me. Also, I currently like to sniff and approach people before deciding about being interactive. If I am okay with them touching, I will lean in or place my head by their hand.I'm ready for a home that understands my needs and will give me the guidance, activity, and loyalty I deserve. In return, you'll get a loyal, loving, happy boy by your side.Additional vids: https://youtube.com/shorts/kwkVMlo7TYI,  https://youtube.com/shorts/ceqPuNFtNrwEnergy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yes, of similar sizeCats: noKids: yes, older dog-savvyFears: sudden movements. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.

LOBA (local ) yo

Labrador Retriever / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed

Hi everyone, I am the lovely Loba and here's some information about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever/Australian Cattle/Greyhound mixAge: 3-1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 6o lbsHighlights: Friendly, loyal, amazingly sweet, smart, bit exciteableMy unique white and black coat turns heads wherever I go. I originally came from Mexico, and while my journey hasn't always been easy, I've got so much love to give to the right family. After my rescue I was abandoned again, but fortunately a kind person stepped up to help me. She however has to move out of her home soon and won't be able to take me with her, so now I am looking for a home yet again.People have observed that I'm smart, listen well and always come when called! I have lived with 4 kitties and I like them just fine, but they don't like me much. I love to meet new people and will bark until you introduce me to them. I am not always comfortable with young children however so it's best if I am in a household with teens and older. While I currently have access to a yard, I yearn to go on walks, as I haven't done that in a very long time. I need a home where I can get the love, attention, and care I deserve. I'm ready to be someone's loyal companion - I just need a chance. Because of my size, I'd do best with a family that has space for me to stretch my legs and an active lifestyle to keep me happy. My current person cares about me deeply, but younger kids are a bit much for me. They want to make sure I find the perfect match. If you're looking for a loving, well-behaved large dog who will be devoted to you, I might be your girl!New vids: https://youtube.com/shorts/ONysIObmc2Y?feature=share,  https://youtube.com/shorts/sYKhNwR6TdA.Additional videos: https://youtube.com/shorts/3SJmqi8c7cY,  https://youtube.com/shorts/KiN-kpMU_Ps,  https://youtube.com/shorts/pRs9IKOEHrM, https://youtube.com/shorts/Gjr7pH_AHUg,  https://youtube.com/shorts/jZYSFuH90oo,  https://youtube.com/shorts/f2LMD60hL7MEnergy level: Moderate. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: No formal training. Please assist me in my transition as I learn how to please you.Leash skills: While I rarely go on leash, as I don't have the luxury of walks, I was good on leash during my recent trip to the groomers. I also have good recall.House trained: Yes, but please help me learn how and where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been spayed and vaccinated. LAL will pay for a microchip at one of our vets.My adoption fee is $500.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Catahoula Leopard Dog / Cattle Dog / Mixed

Hoooowdeeeee. I'm Deggo and here is some info about me:Breed: Terrier/Catahoula mixAge: 4 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 23 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlights: Silly, smart, loving, playful, obedient, affectionateUpdate: I've made it to Vancouver with my sister Morning Glory (aka Nova)!! Ready for my forever home! Both smart and obedient, I bring you a great combo of traits for your future buddy.Life began safely at a shelter in Mexico, after my mama was rescued from the streets while pregnant with my siblings and me. My sis, Morning Glory (aka Nova) is also posted.Being an outdoor enthusiast, my enjoyment would entail daily walks and new adventures. Once done with walking or playjng, I am perfectly content to just lay around the house soaking up the vibes of peace and love.I am very sweet and affectionate and love hugs and kisses. While a bit shy at first, I warm up in no time. I am a funny, easy-going boy who loves to play with other dogs. Not having spent much time around many kids yet, my puppy-like nature suggests I'd probably do just fine with children.Cats, on the other hand... well, they’re a bit scary! Even though dogs aren't 'supposed' to be afraid of them, steering clear is my go-to move whenever we cross paths on walks.Perhaps with a proper, slow introduction, living with one could work out?Recently, when my rescuer saved a kitty, I didn't bother it at all while it sat in its crate on the porch, so there's definitely hope!If you are eager for a co-pilot for your life's enjoyments, I will be right by your side every step of the way.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown, some time spent living with one w/o any issuesKids: unknown, rescuer states likely, though no video proofPrey drive: moderate towards small critters, like lizards, birds, rodents and such.Fears: fireworks & thunder. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: mostly. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Crate Trained: Yes. Though hoping for minimal to non-existent crate time.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. In return, you'll get a loyal, loving, happy boy by your side.Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yes, of similar sizeCats: noKids: yes, older dog-savvyFears: sudden movements.

With a wonderful personality, you will enjoy my company. I am very friendly & playful.Rescued pregnant from the streets of Mexico with one of my sisters, we were both pregnant. I have been in rescue for 4 years now. It is time for me to launch out into my own home. My momma, Orinda, was rescued first by the team. She is posted too, I LOVE my ball and to play fetch. If fact, I get super excited about my ball and going to the park. Once home, I am tired out and chill out, happy to hang out on my bed and with my chew toys. I get along with other dogs with proper introduction, of course. I do play a tad rough, like with the other dogs (see video.) I do have a small bit of prey drive, so please no cats, chickens, rodents, etc...I seem to be ok with older kids, but in my exuberance might playfully knock over the wee ones. I will need a bit of work on my leash skills yet, as well as socialization (meeting new dogs and getting out and about.) I am super smart though and a fast learner.I rather do want all the attention to myself and will interject myself between you and another dog getting attention. I will slide just on in between. Heehee. An active household would suit me just right I love to go out on walks & adventures. Maybe I could be your paddleboard partner? Looking forward to our time together.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: Yes - see videoFears: Loud noises (fireworks and explosions.) Good day. My name is AXEL and here is a little info about me:Breed: Catahoula/Aust Cattle Dog/Basenji mixAge: 4 yrsGender: maleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 18 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s): playful, loyal, smart, sweet, affectionateLook deep into my eyes, deeper, deeeeper... you are falling in looove... with me! I'm an affectionate guy lookin for love.Born on the street with 3 other siblings, we were really young when we were rescued. Our rescuer has taken terrific care of us. One of my siblings already got a home. Now my Mom, Orinda (posted) and 1/2 sister, Estrella (posted) and me are looking for our forever families. My other sibs found homes already. My turn.I have a bit of a quirky personality and still act like a puppy.I enjoy walks and hiking and doggy play time. Those would be my ideal pastime activities. With proper intro, I get along with other dogs. I do need more exercise than I currently get and more socializing meeting other dogs. I have some rudiments of leash training down, but still need a bit more work on this. You'll find me playful and loyal, as well as very sweet.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknownFears: fireworks and lightning/thunder. A recheck in 6 months is advised. My teeth are being cleaned too. I had a low grade localized mass removed down under my ribcage. Medical report is in my photos. Not likely to affect me moving forward.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Hiya. I am ORINDA (Luna) and here is some info about me:Breed: Basenji/Australian Cattledog mixAge: 6 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 50 lbsHeight: 17 inchesCountry of origin: MexicoHighlight(s): smart, loyal, protective, stubborn, lovingBeing a loving dog, I like to hang out and lavish you with love and vice versa. Grin.Rescued from the streets of Mexico, I had just given birth to 4 pups. Thankfully, our rescuers found us. One of my daughters, Estrella is also posted.I like to play for a short while - then I'm done and ready to chill. Though I am a bit overweight and definitely need some more exercise. With other dogs in public, I get along great. My loyalty runs deep at home though. I can be protective of my family and home when it comes to strangers or new dogs. So proper intro is key. After that, all good. Likely best as an only or with a dog who is not interested in being the # 1 head honcho. It will be important to have a strong parental figure to teach me guidelines and boundaries, since I like to be more in charge.Being very smart, I can learn pretty quickly, but I can also be stubborn at times. So short training sessions may be most beneficial.I am also quite food oriented, which could lend to learning tricks well. Speaking of food motivation... I know it is a bad habit, but I will steal food if it is left unattended. So please, some good parenting skills to provide me opportunities for success by not setting me up in such a situation.I do have some small critter prey drive, so no cats, chickens, lizards, rodents, etc... please. And a silly habit I have is nibbling on my blankets, sheets, towels in my crate. Little pieces will show up in my stool. This may be due to the many dogs and changes that have occured with our living situation. It is likely to calm once in a stable, less chaotic environment.Though I have been around kids just fine in the past, I've had no recent interactions. Probably better no smaller kids though, so I won't try stealing food from them. I am house trained, but could use some leash work. I also know how to use a crate, if needed. If you'd be interested in a compatriot to join you in some fun activities and then hang out with you on the couch watching a movie, I'm yer girl.Energy Level: moderate-lowI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: noKids: unknownFears: a bit of fireworks and thunder/lightning. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza.
